Our Belief
An internship at a startup or small business can profoundly impact one’s professional future and give growing companies a huge boost in talent and capacity. San Antonio’s future economy depends on attracting and retaining top talent, and we can help.
By working alongside peers in a cohort setting, interns benefit from shared learning experiences, peer support, and the opportunity to collaborate on projects and ideas. This collaborative environment not only enhances the quality of work produced but also fosters personal and professional growth. It’s a supportive ecosystem where interns can exchange insights, overcome challenges together, and forge lasting connections that extend beyond the summer.
Our Impact
Founded in 2016, Students + Startups started is a partnership between San Antonio Area Foundation, 80|20 Foundation, Geekdom, and our local universities. We have since expanded nationwide and have connected 488 interns to 148 small businesses in San Antonio.
Being part of the Students + Startups program goes beyond securing an internship; it’s about joining a thriving community of like-minded individuals, where collaboration and mentorship are at the forefront. We firmly believe that this collaborative approach enriches the internship experience, making it more meaningful and impactful, and ultimately better preparing our interns for successful careers.”
